“There was a nuclear war. A few years from now, all this, this whole place, everything, it’s gone. Just gone. There were survivors. Here, there. Nobody even knew who started it. It was the machines, Sarah.”

The Link #1: Ab Initio

“Can we meet somewhere?” he asked me. “Or can you come over?” I said nothing to this strange request. “Please,” he added quietly. Again, I was silent. “That silence right there, it tells me that on some level you believe me, Gem. You may not know that what I’ve told you is real yet, but you can feel it.”

”If I come over, this will never end, will it?” I asked him.

“It never ends anyway,” he said sadly. “Not really.” [x]

I can feel her. Miles away, cities, worlds even, I can feel her.  And it’s not about having the power of empathy, of sharing energy, because this goes beyond any power anyone could imagine holding alone.  It’s the kind of power that takes more than one person to function.  It’s love.

#just gonna reblog this again #because this doesn’t nearly have enough notes #can i ship this ship because that would be great #also the writing underneath the graphic is just great okay? #just…….sigh
They’re actually two of three side-characters from #2 of my upcoming book series that are getting much larger parts thanks to a collaboration between friends to write them out in an prose rp style to develop their characters!  That quote will be featured in their sideline story (which may end up getting its own publication).
His character is a Link who can share energy with people—this includes emotions, memories, powers, occasionally thoughts—hence his comment about it being more than just his ability.
Sorry for the wall of text, he’s just always been one of my favorite characters I’ve created, and I’m excited to expand his side storyline!
