I mean, I can’t miss. … I’m on a team with super-humans. And one god, in case you’ve forgotten. Even you…well, you climb walls really well. … I gave up a lot for this life. I could have been happy with Mockingbir— Bobbi. We could have had a good, simple life. But I wanted to play with the big boys. And if I miss, it means I’m just another dude with a bow. It means I’ve been fooling myself this whole time. And that’s why I never miss.
I love him because he really could not be less of a team player. He’s a sniper. That’s the first thing Jeremy ever said to me — it’s this guy’s job to be removed from everybody else and just to watch. So for him to throw in is a very personal thing.
He’s always going to be different from the rest of the crew, and that difference is an intangible based on what he does. His bond with Natasha [Romanoff, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent called the Black Widow] is special, and it is one of my favorite things in the movie. There’s a connection, but that bond is based on the fact that they are both loners.
